Fort Lauderdale - It was announced today that ‘BeachBlast 1’ a live Christian hard rock concert is being planned for Fort Lauderdale. The event will take place March 28 on the city’s South Beach Park next to the Sheraton Yankee Clipper hotel. Admission is FREE. This is still pending City approval of the permit scheduled for February 17th. No
opposition to the permit application is anticipated. Two adjacent neighborhood associations are supporting the event.
Concert activities will include three bands, including 3-time Dove Award winner, ‘Pillar,’ with ten number one hits, and ‘Fireflight’ both of whom have an ‘edgy’ hard rock sound. The two bands have over a dozen number one hits, combined. Both bands will also have autograph sessions and the group’s merchandise will be available for
sale to attendees.

The concert is scheduled to begin at 4:30pm and conclude by 9pm in order to protect nesting sea turtles.
Christian NASCAR driver, Blake Koch (#21) will be on hand for photo ops and to sign autographs for fans. His car will also be on display in the South Beach Park parking lot starting at 3 PM. World-class professional surfer Cheyne Cottrell will also be available for photos and to sign autographs. Cheyne was featured in the acclaimed surfing movie,
“Walking on Water”.
International evangelist and bestselling author Ray Comfort will be a part of the evening’s program. Comfort co-stars with actor Kirk Cameron in the nationally broadcast television and radio series “Way of the Master.” With over 60 best-selling books in print, Comfort’s “What DID Jesus Do?” presentation captivates audiences the world

Emcee for the event will be Chris Lane, Chaplain to the Florida Marlins and founder of First Priority, a local outreach ministry to south Florida public schools. Dr. Jay Strack, CEO of Student Leadership University and co-founder of the ‘Rock the Universe’ Christian concert in Orlando is the executive director of BeachBlast. Bob Reeder, founder
of the Fort Lauderdale Christmas Pageant is the Technical Director.
